- This was a good book about making interesting and effective presentations, which was not exactly what I was expecting when I ordered it. I was hoping for something to help me be a better speaker in general and more able to think on my feet in situations other than giving a presentation. - The Articulate Executive was exactly right when he suggested keeping the speech as conversational as possible. Toogood stated "We are always at our best when we are ourselves, speaking conversationally in everyday, ordinary language. This is as true a statement as you can get when it comes to giving a presentation. The author gives amazing tips throughout the book. The suggestions range from how to present a power point to how to dress during a presentation. This book is a must own for people learning to give presentations.

When a situation is not favorable, Toogood advises to focus on something positive to put a good face on a negative story. I think this is a key point that often gets overlooked when working in business.
He also explains the 18-minute wall and 8-second rule when speaking. The presentation should be limited to 18 minutes if possible. I believe tools and methods book are a great asset to any business executive looking to further their communication skills. - great how to book to help you with nailing presentation.
